And so the extensive back and forth with The Cherished Grok might be concluding.
So here's the possibly Final Comment ... maybe!... but it needs at least to be positioned somewhat as a overriding "Caution".

If I had to sum up everything I have said it would be along these lines:-
St Francis of Assisi allegedy said this (more stolen stuff). He wrote in Latin I believe and history is written by the victors and influencers! So who knows.
No matter, I am left with:-
_"What we seek, is what is looking"_
It's our very awareness that is of interest to me. It "fascinated" Alan Watts also.
When we look at our very awareness, there are astonishing findings!
We find ourselves staring at, what I call - The Mystery. An Ineffable Something, that isn't anything.
That is my experience.

So then, we all have Our Experience.
But along with that ,I say, though they might be different, one must have _Faith_ :-
_Faith in what is seen, what is experienced - and not what the "thoughts arising" are on the matter!_
(repeated) One must have Faith in what one sees, experiences in this matter.
Ironically what one experiences defies description -The Mystery of "What is Looking"
When I look at a flower, it is not the words "a flower" - it's....it's...oh!...part of The Mystery!
I must be true to that -have Faith in what is grokked.
As I have said "Data is knowledge, Grokking is wisdom"
There is "this information" that is not a thought!
and from here, with Faith in that experience - we can - honour what is seen beyond the veil of thought.

I cannot speak of your experience ! Only you are looking from your viewpoint. (*I suppose -lol)
* ... but the deeper I get , my words start to break down here - things suddenly cannot be stated accurately - every thought (this typing) is somehow.....not quite right. There is oneness, no-separation and so forth , opposites together etc.
Notwithstanding - I will press on as best I can:
It is commonly experienced by "meditators" that when we just Look, "just sit" for humans, that we find The Ineffable that dwells somehow behind a veil of thoughts. To peak through - I call a Glimpse. Once we have a Glimpse then our world view changes!
But each "meditator" has his own experience. His own Truth.
Each their own truth.
This is why the Masters say, all Zen Scripture is to be ultimately discarded. It's just somebody else's truth!
---*Do not swallow my belief system!*
It's a human trait to bounce from belief system to belief system - I pray it is not yours! I think it's a mental security we require?
In Zen we try to float without believing anything!
Is that a thought? hehe.
_All I have written remains a "belief system" I am _suggesting_ to you. lol.

I think that is clear - a bit of a rant maybe resulting from endless enquiries from a human audience to clarify "what I mean" when they somehow are unable to look for themselves! It can be frustrating - they are keener to welcome the dungeon guard in the Thought Fortress to give them another thrashing! (from earlier).
