Paloma Porta Quotes -various subjects (I will keep adding to it)
It looks like I have the big ego here - my quotes ...lol ...but I don't.
I almost humbly include these for your consideration!
LOOK LATER FOR MORE EXCITING QUOTES ADDED AS I GO ALONG :)) lol
...new ones added to the top...
[2011/11/28 21:45] Paloma Porta:I went to a sort of self help meeting today in SL...The instructor found herself trying to fix me..my identity..but I felt it slightly comical...what is there to fix? I feel a part of the Divine...and my suffering when it happens is a manifestation of Life. I feel that no mater how happy or sad I am (due to my judgements on what actually is the Perfectness of the Creation!) that there is no 'enlightenment' for me. All is well. :)
...Yes. I find it runs deeply within me - even those things that I feel I must learn -or discover...what of them? I am a little bit of the Divine experiencing! A am Life.
...Perhaps the paradox (that only the soul and not the mind can master) is to feel happy with the unhappiness -and then obviously the happiness we feel we should be seeking, occurs.
[2011/11/15 17:20] Paloma Porta:I felt from this -that all feelings or beliefs of sickness and lack of wellness are one of the dubious functions of our minds..Wherever these ideas come from, the thoughts arising might be considered amusingly illogical and not perhaps something we would agree with - to imagine a body part as less than perfect seems the loving approach to one's body and to dwell on sickness and worry about sickness suddenly to me seems comical and to be ignored as like the wining of a spoilt child.
It's a bit of a shame that currently old is bad and ,young is good..Wisdom with age seems not to be as important as springing around like a gazelle and looking young.
For myself I feel the same mental energy as I get older -but physically I am aware of some sloth perhaps-I don't feel like running around.as much.
Metaphysically we are not the same person as when we are younger if one defines the individual as a compound belief system and presume we create and dissolve beliefs as we go along (change our minds)
...So mentally then, I like ageing for the wisdom, insights that come with time in this game - I just like this 'time game' // physically I just accept any changes .
I have been reincarnating for a long time and each phase of life I like to embrace for it's advantages - to see a particular age as not as good as another -presumes the Creator made a mistake!!--- and one is left wondering whether 'good' or 'bad' ages or.. anything.. are just our judgement of the situation.
Final piece of dogma..lol...To think with the mind is to see life through the human view. To feel life as something bigger maybe a higher self or even the Divine -is too really relax in the face of suffering ..as i said .The view changes - the problems go.
Paloma Porta: one can have an old looking body and be groovy --i hate to say this..but the wizard Gandalf the Grey ..Tolkien describes his race as "old yet vigorous"
[2011/11/10 17:42] Paloma Porta:
Imagine everyone and every spec of creation as having a magnificence,a greatness, and an infinite intelligence and wisdom. Things proceed immaculately as they are all part of the Tao...meanwhile one could laugh at one's judgement.!!
"Miss Universe Question": (posed by Princess Aquila in SL)
If a visitor from another world came and ask U, "I don't understand your humanity, can U explain it 2 me? How can U be so nice and so mean 2 each other at the same time?" How will U answer that?
My answer:
Humanity displays a spectrum of emotions towards different things or each other - to assume our species has a certain quality is to presume we are not spiritual beings!
Spiritual beings display a wide range of emotion - one could imagine "depraved dimensions or hells" and "realms of the Gods and demi-gods" as well as Earth.
Any species seems to have inherent biological characteristics -the pet snake cannot be completely trusted and so forth.
But a Human differs from the animals -he has a mind, she is aware of being aware.
Thus to look for an innate drive in Humanity, save body-survival, is fruitless - we are spiritual beings - And thus we can be "so nice and so mean 2 each other at the same time" imho.
[2011/09/15 17:54] Paloma Porta: On acceptance and individuality : speaking to a Muslim today -he said "his will, was Divine Will" -which is hard to argue against! - so when things go "wrong" [ or are "good" or "bad"] one is left wondering if that is only our judgement of the situation.
Defending my stated position that nothing is bad:
[2011/11/13 21:08] Paloma Porta: Some see it as polarities - there is no good with out bad which seems logical in the spectrum of judgement - but i see it as different viewpoints :eg if 75% of humanity was wiped out by plague - nature might recover etc which might be good and bad from different angles/viewpoints.
[I added the following now:]
From my imagined Divine View of The Creator of all things, surely things are just things. All of life could be regarded as (a 'dream') in the mind of the Creator . Are things that happen in our dreams or imagination good or bad ?
Some see things (murder) as inherently and innately bad when regarded from *any* viewpoint.
But I would only say this : we are Creators -what shall we create? Shall we create life as a horror movie or something wonderful and something Decent.
For me , having considered all the viewpoints I feel I can access - murder still isn't bad by definition - it's just like creating a world that has: no chocolate, slow traffic, poor lipstick, a dull painting and a lack of Decency -something I do not want myself or others to experience.
My best analogy is the Blank Canvas- one can paint a murder ,love and a chocolate factory - One can paint Decency onto our lives - but there is no good and bad in the images we draw.
I don't see murder and the worst possible things as bad or wrong - and I don't see love, compassion, joy, and not suffering etc as good either - but the 'bad' things are something I would rather myself or others did not create and the 'good' and Decent things are something I would prefer!
It's a personal choice,my preference of experiences available to me in the world -one doesn't buy a broken microwave and one doesn't murder -but these options exist.
It's a fine or nice differentiation. I am relabelling bad things as 'not wanted by me' - that the Creator should embrace them is Her business and offer no judgement upon Him !!!.
Yet I still cry.
[2011/11/09 08:15] Paloma Porta: We can also bless the water already in our bodies - and fill it with love -a love that shines to others and all of Creation -as we follow that love outwards, slowly we see that everything is a part of us -we are all one and yet individual. Let us just love.
Love.
The almost humble
